Animals living in the Arctic (both full-time or seasonal) are imposed for extreme conditions. Many animals that spend the winter in the Arctic region (such as the Arctic fox and ermine, too) have a coat that thickens and changes color to white in winter as camouflage in the snow. Some animals hibernate in winter and the sun as if during the warmer months, other animals are perfectly comfortable with the photographers snow and offer lots of opportunities for great pictures.
